Ugggh finding good heating elements for the ultra-bator is getting on my nerves. Always planned on a backup jic, but i also didnt want to have to add 4 coils to get where i needed to be. blah. could just use 750w prewireds lolol

My next set goes into lockdown monday am. Ill probably candle them all when I do. My girls aren't laying for crap right now so I'm getting next to nothing for eggs, but I'm still stockpiling for another set

wish you luck on your next hatch. 1000 eggs is a lot of eggs cant forget that amount. How many do you do at a time now? I think it would take me 6 months to a year to save that many.

They arent all my eggs, I collected alot. I can set 35-40 in the cooler-bator i built. Ive been using a friends gqf sportsman at his shop for my 2 big sets. Close to 80 each set.

It must be contagious cause I went grocery shopping came back to two babies. One Easter Egger and One broiler.

Thats great that you have a friend that lets you use theirs. Thats what i have is a homemade cooler bator.Would love to build a fridge bator.
One day i hope to sale what i hatch and then some.I really want to raise some ducks and turkeys for meat and have plenty of eggs and ducks, turkeys to donate to local food banks.Just a little something id love to do.Sorry for rambling.

brooks you using 2 lower wattage as opposed to 1 higher to avoid overheats?

I am using 2-40 watt bulbs or 2-15 watt depending on what I have on hand. Here is a pic of it.



Now that I use it only as a hatcher I have taken out the turning rack for more room.
