Come hatch along with us!!! Last sets of the year! 10-18 to 11-7

i just put my eggs into lockdown, I added water and the wet paper towels
under the wire floor, it's taking a mighty long time for the temperature
to recover.....

by the way... I finally saw a chick moving inside

You know it took til my 3rd hatch to see a chick moving in shell. It is so cool!!!! I hatch darker eggs like marans and americaunas so very hard to see in those guys. maybe santa will bring me and ovascope.

I sold all my EE chicks that I just hatched for $25. So hubby says I can hatch more.

I also put 5 more into lockdown today. I love having an incubator and hatcher seperate so I can do staggered sets. Put 24 more in the bator on Sunday. Now if I can getogether some more blue eggs I'll set another. I'm selling hatching eggs and everyone wants the blue eggs/green eggs. I don't have anyone right now that has paid so I just a few. Also I have a americauna that is broody and sitting on eggs so one less blue egg layer.

Eggs hatch at all different times of the day. My last hatch of Seramas all pipped late afternoon/ evening and the next morning I woke up to 2 hatched and 2 zipping.

I was just wondering whether I would be peeking at them in the middle of the night but I put them in lockdown last night and I was still peeking at 2am anyway even though
nothing was going on LOL!!!!

Kizanne,

I'm not ready for a little while either, but at some point if you have black copper marans and/or ameraucanas I would love to get some eggs from you. I have a mobile home in Live Oak that I use for my teaching so I could conceivably drive over to pick them up
while i'm doing a class up there.... (and sneak in some dives in Jackson Blue in Marianna at the same time :)..... )

I have chicks peeping! YAY!

And this time I promised myself not to intervene this time but the peeps are on the sides of the eggs. Isn't that wrong? I swear I won't open the bator this time!

By the way if you can't tell--->I've had chickens for years but I am really new to this incubator scene. While it is fun I still find myself frantically checking the incubator every hour. I would never make a good broody

I love diving but don't really enjoy freshwater. Can you tell me what you see at jackson Blue?

On a chicken note: I have one black copper marans, 3 americaunas, 1 olive easter egger. You are welcome to some eggs, but be sure you understand they are covered by a Black english Orphington so they hatch easter eggers not pure breds. NOW give me 6 months and I should have some black copper marans with a marans roo. If he can keep quiet enough for my neighbors. And Barnvelders too. My one americauna is a splash so she is hatching all blue chicks. They were so pretty when they hatched all silvery. Of course I kinda wish I kept them to see what they feathered out like. But I figure I can hatch more

so I placed a ad on craigslist and was surprised by how fast they went. Where are you normally? is redlands in miami?

Cause I might could drop them off for a reasonably priced dive
