Well a relief i guess...palominos are due tomorrow ..and dont hear a thing yet...Was worried as my BBS 3 "good" ones didnt hatch either
.Just eggtopsied them
Not ONE embroy NOT ONE!!!That whole batch of eggs was crap
Guess it s why so cheap. Silverduck got them too same thing i think.... Well brite side hope for my PBs then anyway WAs worried it was my low humidity as the hatches i had that were good were at 40-45 for the first 18 days and these both 35-40

I have some mallard eggs due to go in lock down tomorrow.Today when i was turnning a couple started chirping at me.3 Have pipped internally. 1 has externally pipped.If they hatch this early will they be okay?

Congrats to all the babies...

Had to relocate my 2 broody hens. Went out to the pen this morning and the no-see-ums and mosquitoes tore up my Buff Brahma hens eyes, she was a mess. I moved both of them to the Amazon aviary that is screened in no-see-um wire for the remainder of the time. The chicks and hens are safe from predators and bugs. I have her on ophthalmic antibiotics to prevent infection and speed healing. The aviary floor is covered in pine shavings so it won't be an issue keeping them there until they are big enough to range a bit every day.
Still thinking it will be this weekend so wish me luck.

Thanks! That pic they were just put in the brooder after i disinfected it and threw down nice new bedding (in a scramble of course since they hatched early). They were all still kinda doing the where the heck am i thing. Brough home another 7 this morning (8 hatched knocked one in the head it was acting retarded.. stargazing and neck twisting)

well I gained four chickies today, and I lost one 6 week pullet .... I have no clue what caused it
but she was looking sickly so I brought her in, and I can tell she isn't going to make
it....


there are still three hopefuls in the incubator.. i'll give them another day or two...
