So sorry for the babies that didn't make it. It is the worse thing to hold your breath for that long and not have them make it.

To those of you that have new fluffy butts

For my final count of the 2 broody hen nests I had a total hatch of 27 ..1 died and 3 fails for a whopping 26 babies.
Had to pull some as there were too many for the hens to raise. I am brooding 12 and each hen has 7. The are very good mamas and I am as pleased as punch.

Hey guys, having to use my wifes account... luls. Should know in about 2 hours if there has been any early hatchers in this batch. Ive got a bugger in the cop tho thats been pecking at eggs. May be time to dig out the game camera and isolate the problem. Pics will roll in as the fuzzys start to hatch -MCF

i STILL have one little chick....in the shell(or half of it) moving a bit, breathing....but Just Won't Hatch.

I find with really late hatcers it has helped if I peel away the air sac part of the shell. Get really warm water and moisten the membrane every couple hours. Usually in 4-6 hours they pop out if that membrane if warm and moist. Make sure not to get water in their nostrils.

My last lone egg has still not hatched, it is literally half in the shell and half out. I upped the humidity again this morning, the membrane was quite dry, I put ointment on the membrane to loosen it up, few more drops of infant vitamins for her and popped her back in the incubator. She seemed stronger and peeping louder this morning.

I took a few more of Uno this morning, I can't believe how tiny he is, but strong and feisty. I think I have hatched quail bigger then him. I have kid sized hands, he would look even smaller on someone elses hand.

I used to have the same problem, I work 12 hour shifts, but I set up my laptop and a cheap webcam and stream it live over my website and I just watch it from work.

Congrats to all the new fuzzballs. I try to set my eggs so they hatch on my days off. I hate being at work knowing that I can't watch. Webcams are useless for me because we are not allowed to have our phones out during work hours.
