Have you tried Craigslist? I have found a few breeders in my area by going on ebay and seeing where the people are from. Some of them have been within an hour or two of me and I contact them and no postal service needed.

I have, and I can only find buff orps, I really want bbs. I will probably try ebay one more time. The guys got a lot of good feedback. If it doesn't work out then I will quit and wait till spring when more people are selling eggs.

I would set them and candle in a few days to see what you have. Even if you only get a few to hatch it is better than nothing. Remember mama leaves her nest every day so maybe your eggs were not bounced around too much and are still viable.

Worth a try. But they got thrown... I know my kids all too well. I have however made it impossible for them to get back there now. I screwed the door shut

well time to candle day 9 should have candle'd last night but the jim beam had better ideas lol so it would have been a disarster so as soon as its dark i will have a look and see. fingers crossed

Welcome to our group!!! Where did you get the Araucana eggs from? I have 2 8 week old pullets but sadly they are not tufted. Tried hatching a set last month and only 1 hatched and died at 3 days. They really are hard to hatch and raise.

thanks for the welcoming!!! my dad has been breeding araucanas for years so i got 12 off him its the first lot we are trying in the bator we have put 1 or 2 in here and there over the years with mixed out comes and so now its time his hens have stoped going broody so time for some newbys for our flock and they r such a nice looking bird so today is day 9 so its time to candle was going to last night but had a cpl to many and thought it would b better to wait rather than do any damadge lol so i will candle tonight i will post some pics of the eggs being candle'd thanks again for the welcoming in

See around here all the feed stores just started selling chicks again because it has gotten cooler. People are buying them like crazy. They get the chicks in on Thursday/Friday and they are sold out by Monday.

Thats really great.Here ppl dont want chicks now until spring .It has been going into the 30s already at night sometimes and always 40s now.Not good for babies.

well I candled this morning Day 6. Found one eye. Several with veins. A few that I couldn't tell and 2 that don't look to have any development. Overall the fertility looks high. Probably 90%. It is hard to see much inside the marans eggs so I set a few more last night just to be sure
