Oh wow I thought I was the only one hatching eggs this late

Today is day 6 of incubation and out of 16 eggs 10 have little blobs, 3 look odd, and 2 maybe infertile, and one was tossed because it was cracked :(..due to hatch around November 10th!
Bunch of mutts probably, they could be a mix of EE, RIR, and buff orphington

can't wait to see how the babies look

HAHAHA Chicken Addicted ppl dont let the time of year or cold stop them!!!
(I will probably have chickens in my tub until April)

I candled Friday and was very happy. It looks like I had pretty high fertility and development. Out of about 30 eggs on 3 did look like they were INfertile. Many I could see movement which I have never been able to see before so that was exciting. This is my 3rd hatch using my LG with forced air and egg turner. Each time has been with shipped eggs. Last time TS Debbie took the power out during the actual hatch that was a long hard night.

I am hoping for a nice uneventful hatch with stable temps until then. I think with non-shipped eggs I'll get a higher hatch rate than previously. Of course don't really need 30 more. I'll be hatching another batch after this of shipped BCM eggs when my source gets around to my order I'm on a list.

Edited to say INfertile instead of fertile. Have high fertility going not low.

Yeah shipped you dont get too many usually but lightening can strike!! HAHA
30 eggs you should get a goodly amount. Did you mean 3 were bad or good?
GOOD LUCK!

Glad you said 9 because that is what i wondered what strength is good enough to see in these dark eggs.
I was looking at one on Ebay that had 226 lumins. I dont know how bright a lumin is ...but i thought it sounds really brite...high number etc,,,HAHA... about $30 so better work well.

OK I am in again.

This time one of my little Seramas decided to go broody. I have not had really good luck getting baby Seramas to live so I figure if she thinks she can what the heck. I have to go stick a reply into Marine's thread also since I had a Silkie do the same thing on me a week later.

I have to check my comments on another hatching thread to figure out my dates, but I know the Serama was in this time frame.

Here is a shot of Miss Goldie:

Roxannemc I meant 3 were infertile.

Fur N Feathers she is a Miss Goldie is beautiful.

WELL of course I jinxed myself by talking about an uneventful hatch. I didn't know that hubby hadn't switched the house to heat so last night the house got really cold and the incubator couldn't keep up. My temps dipped. I'm not sure how bad but not below 86. I am going to just keep going hoping all it did was maybe slow their growth. I think I had a few quitters anyway before the temp dip. They are supposed to hatch Sunday night which means I'll have to ride it out til Tuesday but I know it is going to freak me out if they aren't popping out Sunday night. I won't be able to sleep

Well my 3 eggs are still chugging along. Tomorrow they go into lockdown (on Halloween). Then they are due to hatch this Saturday. I hope I get 3 Barred Rock pullets.
