10?! Oh my. That's an awful lot.

Yeah, we lost 4 roosters, a few (idunno how many) older chicks that were hatched by a broody hen a few months ago, and thankfully only 2 hens. He was getting into the coop somehow. Owls are pretty smart.

Oh no! I'm so sorry.
Its so hard to loose them, sometimes you don't know how much you love them until they're gone. Berry had an amazing life, she could have ended up with anyone and she ended up with you. She knew she was loved.
You'll only learn from this, and the rest of your flock will be all the better for it. Hang in there, were here for you.

It’s basically leftover mashed potatoes with flour added, then fried in a ton of butter in a cast iron skillet.

Yum! I've gotta try that! My parents try to do that every Thanksgiving lol, but they skip the flour, and you just end up with chunks of semi crispy mashed potato hahah!
