Coming down with a cold before Christmas :(

Hope you nip it in the bud soon. I like a hot mug of theraflu to knock me out at night when an illness gets the better of me.

My friend is an older Chinese lady. In their culture, you never drink or eat cold stuff when you are sick. She told me to thinly slice an inch or so of ginger root and put it in a pint of water. Bring it to a boil, then add a tablespoon of brown sugar. She says you should drink one cup of this every hour. I tried it the last time I had a cold. You would be surprised how good it tastes and how much better you feel afterward. I didn't have any ginger this time but I might stop at the store on the way home today. It works wonders on an upset stomach after too much rich food. Also amazing for a hangover. (hearsay

That sounds good! There are a lot fo amazing recipes in the Chinese culture. I learned last night that 2 Benedryl give me hallucinations so I will back off of that stuff. I could have sworn at 5AM my husband was brining a turkey in the kitchen

My cold is moving around. Now its in my head and chest. Will find me some more cold medicine. Ran to the video store and rented some movies so that I can veg out in front of the TV. Hubby is on his way home and will do chores tonight

Might send him to the store to get some ginger root.

Hoping everybody is starting to feel better slowly! I am over most of it. Just still a bit tired. I went out today and decorated my horsey. He was not happy that I felt better.
