Do your ducks come in at night by themselves? Or do they have to be herded in?
My Muscovy pair does always.........
When we had ducks, they always did. I guess they followed the chickens.
Sometimes they were scared of the chickens and we'd have to give them a push, but mostly they took care of themselves.
mine do, but we had to train them to do so.
Ours goes in on his own and even herds the geese when it gets dark.
Mine will hang in the pen unless I escort them into the coop!
It's fine though as I like to pick up the feed dishes before nighttime anyway, so I just hustle them in, pick up the dishes, pull apart the waterer if its supposed to freeze, no big deal.
I suppose I could leave them out as the pen/run is fully cloaked in hardware cloth, but I feel better that they aren't just hanging outside calling attention to themselves.
