Do your ducks come in at night by themselves? Or do they have to be herded in?

When we had ducks, they always did. I guess they followed the chickens.
Sometimes they were scared of the chickens and we'd have to give them a push, but mostly they took care of themselves. [IMG]

Ours goes in on his own and even herds the geese when it gets dark. [IMG]

Mine will hang in the pen unless I escort them into the coop!
It's fine though as I like to pick up the feed dishes before nighttime anyway, so I just hustle them in, pick up the dishes, pull apart the waterer if its supposed to freeze, no big deal.
I suppose I could leave them out as the pen/run is fully cloaked in hardware cloth, but I feel better that they aren't just hanging outside calling attention to themselves.
