Comparing silver laced wyandotte

Hi there. Could anyone tell me which cockerel exhibits more show quality? Al be it they are at different ages. The two at the top are brothers and the other one is my personal which I’m thinking of getting rid of for one of the brothers. TIA.

From the younger ones in the first picture I would choose the one in front to stay.
The one in the back has a comb that probably will lead to offspring with single combs or other comb faults. Also his eyecolour is too light.

And I would keep the other one in the single shot as a backup.

I agree. Currently the one at the bottom is the best (with the most depth of breast and width of back or tail) but it would also be good to see how the one at the front on the top turns out. He might be better in the end.

That is a little different from how our Wyandottes look today.
More width and fullness and smoothness over the backline and more depth of breast are desired today, however, that is the desired heart-shaped silhouette, I suppose it is what Wyandottes would look like if people didn't always pick such loose and fluffy feathering (and you can't eat the feathers.) However, I'd argue that this bird has tight feathers rather than what the Standard calls for which is fluff medium and length moderately full.
The body is to be round, the coverts to fill out well in front of the tail.

Yes, however that is what is in the SOP. It says that they need "Body and Fluff: Body, short, deep, round, with low-set keel.Fluff, full-feathered, well rounded.". From what I have seen, the most commen winners are quite similar to the photo at higher leval shows. They do usually have lighter and feathers feathers and I would agree that the picture is a little tight. The standard has definitely changed, but not enough to make the picture a bad example.

And here is my rooster. He is a bantam, so he just is a smaller size than the SOP for regular. But he is a pretty good SOP show bird:

Well, the one on the bottom currently but he is also the oldest so it is impossible to make a comparison.
Just keep them both for long enough for them to mature to compare.
What is wrong with keeping two anyway? I find keeping a backup cockerel to be beneficial as something happens to the other some time.
This winter, me and my brother both lost roosters we planned to use for breeding but since we had two it was no great loss.
It really would suck to lose a bird with no backup.

I like bolth on top, but from what I can see I like the one in front is who I would keep. If the other one’s tail is nice keep that one because I like its head more! I also like its feathering. The one in front is not bad though!


Keeping two also may be beneficial if you have the room.
