Juby; How many live in your hen-hotel now?

I like the fact that everyone is going green on their materials. Keep up the good work folks!

I have fourteen now. The coop now is actually 4X10 plus 4x6 that goes inside the shed. There is plenty of yard. I own half of the block so space isn't an issue.

Bantytown has a ring to it. I may cabbage on to it.

About the shed. It started as an 8x8 ft shed. Then I added 4x8 to the back. The 8x10 to the side. Then I added the peaked roof and followed up with the coop as in the last pic. Then my addiction went full force and I bought more chickens and sealed up the enclosed run. Then I got a couple more and took space insdie the shed I wasn't using and used it for the coop. So this is how it is now. well until I add to it again. If my wife don't shoot me first.

Jeremy Hide the guns and don't hang any heavy cast iron skillets on the coop. Then maybe you'll be safe from wifey!! LOL Also No rolling pins hanging within reach!!

That was my plan for this last weekend...but then I came down with this FLIPPIN' cold - and I've been miserable!

I have plans to paint it to match our barn (dark red with khaki accents) and the put my "company name" on it (not really a company - just a campy name)...and put some funny sayings on it.

I'll definitely post pictures when I get started. I'm hoping to kick this cold right in the you-know-what!

This is my ugly temporary coop.

and this is my project for this month. This is going to be converted into our permenant coop.

The trusses will be attached to the building to make a partially covered run. The run itself will be about 35'x15', with the birds being allowed 3-5 hours of free range during the day.
As you can see I have ALOT of work to do.
