Completely new and no idea what we are getting into lol

Took the plywood you see that's painted off the original wall for the duck pen. I can't wait to get paint on these walls lol

Phase 2. Addition of the chicken coop.

Very nice work... I need a barn do you travel?

Lol sorry I have enough of my own work to do I can't afford to hire out lol

Door is hung and secured. Need to do the final touches and add the hardware cloth. This door weights a ton, nothing will be getting through this thing. For reference it's the same construction as my horse stall door. They have kicked the snot out of those wit no damage.

What beautiful doors and pics of your girls. Do they come and go as they please now? Is her leg malformed or is that swelling? I just love that property so flat. we live in the mountains of NC not a bit of flat ground here except where our home sits and it was made flat. lol I'd pick your duck up if you haven't already and examine her leg real good to rule out inflammation because that can be treated.

No they still stay in the pen and we go on trips during the day. I work from home a lot so that helps. My neighbor has a lab that worries me. It's not a mean dog but that instinct is there.

We don't see any infection I think it's just malformed.

I wish I had the land you have! My girls have to stay in a pen all the time. I'm looking to have someone make me a portable one that I can move around the backyard every other day or so. That way they can get the bugs and grass and still have their nest box "in the same place."

Yeah I am blessed with some property. Funny thing is I am in a rural subdivision. It's an older one with about 30 houses I am at the end of the street on a dead end road. The guy across from me has 5 acres and I have 5.5. No stupid home owners association lol. My neighbors are great and like to come see the animals. The barn sits off the road about 300 feet at the back of the property that backs up to a farm so the smells stay back there. If I told most people what I paid for the place they would probably pass out. The last owner bought it and couldn't sell his house so he had to dump this place fast. The house is in good shape it just needed some updating and everything was blue, including the house!!!! So along with doing the barn, the house has gotten a huge make over as well.

The rest of the bird clan arrived yesterday. Six silver laced wyandott and 2 bronze turkeys. The final 6 broilers get picked up on Sunday.
