Completely new and no idea what we are getting into lol

Thanks for the eye-candy inspiration! Some folks just have a talent for order and beauty. Me? I am good with bringing together many many species of edible and medicinal plants, and caring for a happy flock of ducks. Working on the order part. There's lots of beauty around us here, mostly very natural - woodlands, gardens, and if you're into boulders, much beauty.

We are very blessed for sure. We are starting a garden next to become most self sustaining. My wife is very against gmos lol

Btw. The barn was empty when we got it and white. We painted it, did all the stalls and added the fence and the landscaping areas. It's been a busy 3 years. Other than the concrete work we did it all ourselves.

Finally some nice weather in ohio!!! 70 degrees days and sun, I thought this day would never come. So we put the girls on the pond in the morning and they stayed out On the water all day which made for some very happy ducks.

The nice part is they are starting to look so much better. Nice clean feathers and orange beaks.

Makes a difference having someone to care for them and feed them properly and give them good sunshine. Sounds like ya'll are on the right track with being self sufficient. GMO's are killers, and they wonder why there is so much cancer and disease.

Hello!! Haven't posted lately as everything has kept us pretty busy. Ducks are doing very well. They are completely in their routine and other than our one girl being crazy noisy, they seem very happy. We now average about 3 eggs a day

Chickened are well but lost 2. Not sure where or how, they just vanished from the outside when the fence fell down. Lost one broiler and one SLW. Had to cull a turkey after it's legs went out.

The broilers are red. I am guessing they have some RIR in them. The SLW are very skiddish and not nearly as friendly as the RIR.

Two of the broilers have received a pardon with the loss of the other two. We are going to keep one hen and might keep a roo for a bit.

Well we lost a Rouen the other day to what we assume was a snapping turtle. Just disappeared. After owning ducks we realized they are fun to watch but what a pain to own. The are loud and crap everywhere. We will let these live out their days but these will be the last ducks we ever own. You guys can keep them.

Perhaps you should consider re-homing them?

We will still give them a good home these will just be our last ducks.
