Concerned about a peachick...

We had a slow going hatch last night that resulted in a peachick that I don't think will make it.

It had a twisted neck which straightened out pretty good but the chick seems to have a bit of fluid built up behind its head. It looks like maybe the crooked neck in the egg was the cause, maybe from the slow hatch. At first I thought it was a small tumor or cyst but seems to have a water balloon feel to it.

I'm hoping someone here may have seen this before and can point me in the right direction. I'm willing to try to drain it, have Tylan on hand and can start vitamins.

BTW, its name is Turbo.

Turbo should be fine. The bubble will slowly go away. How is it otherwise? Pictures pictures LOL! Here's a link about bubbles:

Give Turbo some vitamins in the water and medicated chick starter and it'll grow up just fine

I've seen that before and it usually goes away... I would *not* try to drain it or give any medications.

He seems good otherwise. He's not up and walking much yet, only 12 hours old. He's crawling around a bit and holding his head up quite well. I dont expect it to eat/drink yet, but hopefully tonight it will get around better.

Quick update...

Last night was bad. He wasn't up yet and his head was still bobbly drunk. Set him in a small container with his feet tucked under him and his head resting in a upright position. This morning he's holding his head up, and his feet seem to be a lot better. He walks a few steps and takes a nap every few minutes. Its like he's a full 24 hrs behind schedule.

He's living off pedialyte, I hope he's pecking around soon. Phew!

May I ask why you are giving it Pedialyte?
I have one that took 48 hours before it got to walking normal same with a goose I found left behind after a hatch they are 3 days old now and doing great, it just takes some a bit longer that is all.

Well since it wasn't getting around, I tried a dropper with water. I can drip it on its beak and it will drink. I figured a dropper of pedialyte rotated with water a few times a day couldn't hurt.

is it trying to eat, I found a little wet food on my finger helped get them started when they were lagging behind, some of mine didn't seem interested in feed till the 3rd day , then they ate like pigs

It hasn't ate yet. Today is the first time I've seen it pecking around. I'll try wet and dry food here shortly and see what happens.
