Concerned About the Time Change

Maybe get a automatic pop door so there are locked securely in the coop at dusk? You can put it on a timer.

On automatic pop door do you worry that a hen will get locked out. I thought about automatic door too but my hens now take themselves in at night and they have been determining the time. If I’m out there and they go in, I close the door but most nights now they are still on roosting bar and take themselves in when want to. This happened with later day light hours and I’m typically not out this late at night.

Automatic door may not be all that effective for a run. I would not want raccoons in run either, too much opportunity for slip up where a chicken will be caught out with them one after dark. Many examples can be found where birds get caught outside by automatic doors.

I was talking about the coop. My chickens are all in before it gets totally dark so works good for me.

Do you guys have a suggestion of model or place of purchase that you like for game camera?
Ebay has a great selection of cameras. I have had the best luck with Moultrie brand. Definitely the most longevity and picture quality. I would stick with them. My last purchase was the A Series W-30i 14 MP. I only paid $60 for it. This is a pic off the camera, great picture quality of an ugly buck covered in deer flies:
