This summer we plan to install an outside nipple waterer system. It will be fed from one of the rarely used wells.
We will mount it low along the outside wall of the pump house that houses that well. There is a wide overhang or eave that will protect it from all but the strongest of blowing winds and rain.
This system will be a time saver for me so that I am not spending hours throughout the hot summer days going around making sure there's plenty of full water buckets and waterers.
We intend to put a release valve on the distal end so that I can drain it of all water on any night we are expecting belowing freezing temperatures. Anything else I need to do to maintain it (besides routine flushings to clean it)?
