Confessions: Animal Hoarding, Animal Planet, Jan 14th, about chickens!

Which show was the "bad" chicken hoarder? I would like to try to catch a rerun. There are a couple of hoarder shows. Thanks and I look forward to watching on Jan 14.

We watched the whole episode with "Hannah" and the guy with the bunnies. It really was very sad. Both of those people have a disease and it is terrible to see how it affects those around them (people and animals).

Lots of discussion about the woman with the birds in really bad shape, but the guy with the bunnies... he was RENTING that house and the bunnies were chewing through and living in the walls. Poor landlord.

The A&E peeps really did put two of the worst people (in terms of mean, stubborn, ornery, etc.) into that one episode. They should have had a warning in the beginning:

"Do NOT watch this episode unless you are prepared to be REALLY ticked off at the end!"

On a related note to this thread, lately Animal Place has been getting some publicity about the roosters rescued from this hoarding case who need homes. Our local paper carried the story, and KCRA came and did a story on the roosters as well. I was hoping we would get some encouragement and potential adopters, but instead people are leaving such rude comments about rescuing roosters! It's a bit discouraging.

Yes, they're difficult to find homes for, but they are really wonderful roosters, living beings, and they deserve respect and happy lives, too.

Sorry, just had to share somewhere because it makes me frustrated when people are so shallow and rude, basically saying just to kill them all and laughing at our organization for saving them. If these were dogs, there would be tons of positive comments, but because it's an animal that most people see as being "just" a food animal, their perspective is completely different. It just makes me sad. I think I'm going to go give my roosters hugs now. I wish there was more compassion in this world.
