Confused and concerned!

[Sphynxii]

One of my young naked neck roosters has kind of a mould on his legs, it looks like the stuff that grows on bread its gray and blue in colour... Any ideas on what this is?

can you get pictures? im guessing its a bad case of scaly leg mites, but a picture would tell me for sure.

i cant see it well in the picture, im guessing your talking about the dots on the leg towards the back.

i cant say im right here, but this is what i would do if it was mine. mix 1 part bleach to 10 parts water and clean the legs thoroughly. afterwards wash with soap and water, then coat them fully with vasaline. if you have vetrx it wouldnt hurt to mix some of it in the vasaline.

someone else may have better advice on this.

Thankyou i will give it a shot, also two other chikens have similar things on their combs would this be the same problem?

let me do some research, you may have a case of fowl pox. im not sure if it affects the legs.

i cant find any information on it affecting legs so far, but here are some threads with pictures.

thankfully we have never had it on our farm. im just trying to help you find some information. some say you can cure it, but if i remember right its a form of the herpes virus.

neither of thoes links look anything like whats wrong with mine thankfully...any other idea?
