I gave them mealworms, but no grit.

They seem very happy!
I've actually had them outside a few times too though, so they probobly picke up some sand or small pebbles.
They will be 5 weeks Tuesday.
I am actaully going to agway on my lunch to see if they have chikie grit.

I just picked some up at Agway this morning. Warning - the whole bag is 50 pounds! But my Agway scoops out a smaller amount to sell you if you don't want to kill yourself.

I did feel like a bit of an idiot buying crushed rock what with the huge gravel driveway and all...

Dumb questions for speckledhen - Can I use the same grit I use for my adult hens? I'd suppose so, but being this will be my first batch of chicks, everything is new to me and I want to make sure.

Whoops - I see booboo mentioned "chickie grit" and posted the same time as me. I wonder if that's the answer - "Chick" grit?

I'm just going to the pet store to buy parakeet or canary gravel. Much cheaper and smaller for baby chickies:weee:weee:weee

Cynthia - What about play sand (sandbox sand)? I have a couple bags of that left over from when I built a sandbox for my granddaughter.
