Confused on all Flock Feed

Which feed stores?

If you've got Southern States then your all-flock feeds are Southern States/Nutrena Country Feeds Flock Balancer pellets or Super Breeder crumble and, depending on the store, possibly Purina Flock Raiser.

If you've got Tractor Supply then your all-flock feeds are Purina Flock Raiser, Nutrena Naturewise All Flock, and Dumor All Flock (which is only 17% protein and therefore inferior to the 20% feeds).
Very good example of how confusing the names on feeds can be, which is why it's important to look at the nutrition panel.

My "all flock" equivalent crumble is labeled "Hatch-to-Hen."

I was able to ask the knowledgeable store staff for 18-20% all flock and they showed me the options. Unfortunately, not all stores have said knowledgeable staff.

Only slightly related to the topic at hand. You may have to ask for the Purina flock raiser. It has been months since I got it straight off the shelf. They've had it, just not on the sales floor. I don't know why.

My local feed store, a Southern States, only keeps a few bags of the most commonly asked for items on the shop floor (which isn't very large). I've learned to go directly to the cash register, ask for and pay for what I want, and then take the receipt to the drive-through warehouse in back where they load my order into the truck for me.

At another, even smaller local store closer to my old home, they don't have any chicken feed on the floor. You order what you want and they bring it out to your car from the back warehouse.

Found the Nutrena All Flock at Tractor Supply and grabbed a 50lb bag of oyster shell!

My local feed stores all work that way, even the ones that have room to house feed in the store, it's easier to just tell the cashier what you want and they'll send someone to carry it out from the warehouse or storage area.

I love the drive through. Pay for what you want, drive in, hand the guy the receipt, they load it, and you're right out the door. Quick and efficient.
