Confused over incubator temperatures...which is right????

Get a hygrometer and duct tape. Hygrometer to keep track of your humidity and duct tape to seal the bator closed to keep you from opening it!!!

I used to do the same thing. I had to MAKE myself leave it alone. Only opened at 10 and 18. Put water in at 10 and 18 if needed. My hatches were much better.

As for cracking the eggs, I do if I can see something when candled but yet it didn't grow out. The only time I've had a "smell" is if the egg was "bad" and you know well in advance not to open those. They ooze!

My first time to use a bator and I was having a hard time keeping the temps at 99.5.It would be good and then 30 minutes later it would be 104. I would adjust again then the temps would go down to 85. I use a automatic turner so I got to looking when it towards the heater(or center) it would go up ,outside it would go down. So i moved the temp gauge to the far side and the temps have stabilized out.Thinking about a digital temp and put in the back.
