Speaking of pics: I'm having a Coop Photo Contest over on my Facebook page, "Egg Carton Labels by ADozenGirlz" and I would LOVE to have my fellow Connecticut BYC peeps come over and participate!!

The contest runs until Wednesday, 4/13/11 at 8:00 pm, EST. The photo that gets the most "likes" will win a set of 24 Custom Egg Carton Labels! So, dust off your hard drives and upload a photo of YOUR coop. It doesn't have to be fancy, big or anything extraordinary, it just has to get the most "likes," so tell your friends and family to hook you up!!!!

That was tongue in cheek - I will be snapping pics of the box on the post office counter, in the car, in the house ... pics of opening the box, chicks in the box, chicks out of the box, chicks in the brooder ... lol!

Hello...I'm from Northwest Ct....just found this forum and figured I'd say hello. I have had a clandestine chicken operation going for about a year now. Really have enjoyed having them here. Wondering if anyone knows the legalities of having chickens in Torrington, Ct. I get mixed answers. A neighbor who has chickens says there is no acreage limit and you can have 10 hens, no roosters. Others say you can't have them unless you have 3 acres or more. I see people in town have them in the middle of the city. Some are very obvious, like the people close to rt 8 w/ rabbits and chickens easily seen from the road. They don't seem to have any problem.

Just wondering if anyone else has and more info.

Thanks
