i think we have the hatching bug my daughter has 28 splash orp due next week then 40 more splash orps do the week after.then last night she brought 12 blue slate eggs she set due on mothers day she is going to set 18 splash orps next wseek to hatch with the turkeys.she is so excited she had a blue slate last year that was her best friend but he past an she was devastaded she wants another blue slate soo bad.she said she wants to keep 3-4 then sell the rest.she is going to be one busy 11 year old this spring.hahahahah

12 banty wheaten ameraucana and 6 mille fleur d'anvers. I'm just on pins and needles until they arrive safely. I built my own incubator, so I'm trying to get the temp and humidity stabilized right now.

hatching report from Tolland
Started with 6 bcm 7 cream brabanter 4 Ameraucana and 1 from my coop just for fun
Well turned out all 6 bcm were not fertile 6 of 7 cb hatched and 3of 4 amer hatched my 1 enter also hatched it was a white leghorn hen and a black silkie roo
what a cute little bird

We have 25 day olds coming from meyer Wednesday morning. We have been going to Tractor supply in Farmington every few days so the kids (they're 10 and 7) can look at he chicks because they can't wait for ours to get here.

I never would have expected 132 pages of CT chicken peeps!
