Connecticut!

Vamvakas, My latest group hatched on March 7, and I still provide them with a heat lamp at night (they are outside). Last night with the freezing temps I even covered them up with a tarp. These big swings in temperatures can't be easy for them to deal with.

anyone interested debbie is running a special for eart week an is sell all her orp chicks form5$ each she has blacks a few blues alot of lavenders an some diff mixed color orps.her black roo won best in breed an reserve champ an her blue pullet won reseve in breed both at the ct show last weekend.that was the firrst time she showed.she also has her 2 day old baby goat you will get to see if u come to get chicks.

I've been going back and forth as to whether or not to put my chicks in the coop this weekend and after all the reading I've done on here, there seem to be a lot of "old timers" who have been dealing with chickens for decades and they said to get them out there! LOL My chicks will all be 4 weeks old this weekend so I plan to move them. I stopped using a heat lamp weeks ago and it's amazing how fast these chicks are growing. They are all almost fully feathered and I've been told they will be just fine. And I'm in Upstate NY!

we dont put our chicks out till 6-8 weeks unless it is summer time where it is 60 at night.it is still 30 at night that is very cold for 4 week olds.

I have mine out inside the coop with 2 heat lamps it is a nice 80 degrees in there right now. I put a wireless temp gauge in the shaded area. mine are 4 weeks old

Hi, I had 7 eggs in the bator, only got 1 hatched (today). :-(... Does anyone around central CT have a couple of day old standard size chicks they could sell me to keep the little bugger company?
Thanks, Gary
