Happy November 1st!
Rain for today, yay![]()
Time to winterize for our New England weather....
We did not get that much in the Naugatuck Valley today. A downpour, some stiff breezes.First year with chickens, what does everyone do to winterize? The coop I built (5'x6') this year has ridge and soffit vents so it won't be 100% airtight. I have 1'x2' windows on each gable end. Should I put plexiglass in the windows to block any wind? Four hens at the moment.
Also, I'm in Iceland right now and though it's a bit cold (36*) and slightly breezy in spots, it's been pretty dry. Kind of happy I'm missing any rain you got back home!

I would cover the windows, definitely, As long as you have lot's of vents open.First year with chickens, what does everyone do to winterize?
