Connecticut!

Does anyone know of a local place for humane processing? I'm watching my little cochin roos grow and thinking we likely won't be able to find homes for all of them. Don't think I can manage culling them by my little vegetarian self and my husband certainly can't. Trying to prepare options in advance.

All ct tsc get there's from the same 3 hatcheries and I don't know where you live but there is a guy in Ellington that will take your roos as many as you have I was gonna bring him mine but to far a drive from where I live

Ask a Greek person to kill him, most of us will do it if you give us the bird to eat for free. Or you can take him to the auction and only guess what his future lies ahead.

I wonder where the Vernon TSC got their chicks?

I could call, but they generally don't know anything about anything re: chicks. Except that you have to buy 6.

Yes, I just heard about the 6 rule. Where does that come from? Is it a TS thing or a CT thing? Person I was talking to said he thought it was some CT rule. I can't follow the logic behind it.

It's a TSC rule that they are notorious for blaming on whatever state you happen to be in. NY does have the rule of 6, however. Not that it makes a lot of sense...unless you're selling chicks.

TSC is not my favorite place for chicks. They are like the wal-mart of feed stores. A good friend of mine got most his 20+ flock from a local feed store. The chick were healthier and I don't remember being a 6 minimum. It's a store policy. The TSC in Pawcatuck I think had a 3 or 4 minimum.
