Yesterday's storm was something! No fun for chickens. So glad its nice and sunny today so we can dry out a bit. Threw a bucket of dry pine shavings down under the coop in there favorite spot and they seemed grateful.

There was ice on the stairs this morning!!!!! Almost slipped..... The electricity didn't go out at our house!!!!

Re last weeks rain.. I pulled a Charlie Brown-style slip-and-fall in the run. Fortunately, I have an hour-long commute to work with heated seats in my car, so that helped.
Put some hay down on the ground from the gate to the feeder to prevent further falls.

Say- anyone know of a feed store near GREENWICH? I am brooding chicks for a friend. Once they move into her coop, she will need a local place to buy her feed.

This is a tough part of CT for chicken keeping. I wouldn't be surprised if they have to take a drive once and a while. There is a place here in Ridgefield, but it's so expensive, and I doubt they have the turn over to keep it fresh so I go to Bethel. They might be able to get a local place to special order it for them.​

is there any TSCs in the area?

It's so cold today! All my waters were frozen solid, i had to bring them into the house and put them near the woodstove to thaw!

So i talked to TSC and they host events there so i want to set something up in the spring. I don't know wehre the mojority of us are but the TSC i was thinking about is in Lisbon/Griswod, its like 30min away from wehre they host lil rhody. lol, if that helps for refrence. Would anyone like to help me with this?
