Connecticut!

Anyone know about restrictions on the keeping of poultry (or livestock in general) in Wilton CT?

Every time I read through the town bylaws it seems to be talking around the issue and I can't find the bit that is specifically allowing or banning anything. Farms are permitted in residential areas, but I don't know if there are specific livestock restrictions.

If you email your town, they’ll tell you exactly where to find the information you’re looking for. That’s how I found out about my town’s laws :)

Just wondering if anybody in Connecticut raises any other poultry that are different from the ones we always see.... Such as I used to breed and raise speckled Sussex and silver laced wyandottes but I gave that up a while ago and now I'm on to leghorns

I will soon have Lavender Orpingtons. I also have Delaware’s and white leghorns. I just need to set up specific pens. To keep everyone separate once the Delaware’s and leghorns are old enough.

If you are serious I wouldn’t mind trading some hatching eggs in the future possibly.
Of course my girls just started laying they say to wait like what 6 months after they start laying to get good hatching eggs even though I hatched Pulley eggs one time.... But they were so tiny... So I see why that's not a good idea:jumpy
