Connecticut!

Hi guys and gals, I live in Newington CT and I was just wondering if there was a town ordinance for have chickens here?

Anyone in CT have hatching eggs for sale??? Mostly lookig for Quail or rare breeds?

I am not looking to have them shipped but I will pick up. I am in Watertown

Really? What kinds?!?!
So far they have had buff brahmas, buff orp,s,golden laced wyandottes, partridge and barred rocks, speckled Sussex,RIR,NH,and white and brown leghorns plus assorted bantams and ducks and a few other productions and sex links. It's a way better variety so far than last year.

Mine had had issues with laying shell-less eggs so that contributed to it. She had seemed perfectly fine till i noticed she wasn't running like she use to for treats, and after that it all took place in less than 24 hours. Chickens can be so tough in some ways and so fragile in others.

"Chickens can be so tough in some ways and so fragile in others."

Isn't that the truth....

I was unfamiliar with peritonitus so I did a google search and found an interesting account of diagnosing it in a flock.. nice read

Yes, my path was similar. I thought she was egg bound and bathed her too. So so helpless when this happens.

Have any of you used the buy-sell-trade forum to get birds? I posted my 2 Orpington Roos in the free to a good home site but wonder if I should move the post to Buy/sell/trade instead to get more exposure. I just need to rehome because of zoning so I don't want to push it with having multiple roosters! Wonder if they are getting short shrift- they are very handsome. Maybe I should put $1,000 price on them to get attention ;)

That whole area of the forum is difficult to use. Unless I missed it, there's no way to narrow by location. We just adopted a silkie roo because Beth happened to post here in the CT forum with a link to the Buy-Sell-Trade posting. Otherwise I might have found and taken another bantam roo by then - it's just too much to wade through.

Wish we had space for your boys! I told my husband we need a "bachelor pad" when we eventually leave CT and hopefully move to a much bigger more private piece of land. They can crow all they want then.
