Connecticut!

Scratch that...I just got a call stating the chicks they have are "too old" to be shipped. I will try to place another order in the next couple of weeks if I cannot find another source. Disappointed because I was told they had some that were a week old they could ship, and am now being told they are too old to be shipped?

I think they have to be day old chicks to ship as they still have the yolk to feed them. A week old they most likely would die as it would be to long with out food and water
As they have nothing to eat or drink for 2-3 days. It is very smart of them NOT to ship them. Patience is a virtue

Oh trust me I understand all that, it was just a miscommunication on their end with someone telling me they had 1wk olds they could ship, when in fact they couldn't. It's all cleared up now.

On Saturday mother bear and two cubs was in the woods behind us and came up to deck next door. Neighbor called to warn me to keep an eye on the chickens. Have see the same bear late last summer when the cubs were itty bitty. Will see if I can get pics from neighbor and check my trail cam. This pic is from earlier in week at business nearby.

Here are bobcat pics from same place of business. (I know someone who works there and everyone races to take pics when wildlife appears.) These may be 2 years ago but the same neighbor has seen the bobcats come around, too. I think I saw one about 4 years ago in my yard. The bears make do a loop. Usually whenever I see one it turns up down there soon after.

Wow, great wildlife pics! I'd be excited and worried too!

Can anyone tell me WHERE to buy a 50 lb bag of wheat in this state?? When I call the feed stores they sound puzzled that someone would want such a thing. Ummm, sprouting fodder, mixing your own feed???? I had to drive to the Westerly RI Agway to buy Green Mt. Organic pellets but they have soy in them and I would like to get back to soy free. The shipping from Countryside Organics is quite a lot although buying 50lbs (organic) beats the Walmart (non organic) "ship-to-store free" by a few dollars. I just find it very hard to believe that no one in CT sells 50 lbs bags of wheat!
