Connecticut!

Anyone local to newtown interested in a couple of free chicks to mother? pm me for more details... one is a either cuckoo or birchen marans , sex undetermined... the other a golden cuckoo marans barneveldor cross... looks like possibly a little golden cuckoo henlet. I have a big hatch due next week and these two are extras not in my breeding plan. This is one of them... could not resist the photo op. A friend of mine had a birthday this week so I took this picture to put on a card for her... just one of those having fun moments. You've come a long way, baby was the caption.

ISO day old or bantam chicks as a foster siblings for my single hatchling or someone with a great broody mom that would take in a small going on 3 day old chick. She had a rough start and just today is eating not from a syringe but won't eat unless I hold the the wet mash vertically in front of her. She also won't drink unless from a dropper. She is very clingy and needs a friend to show her the ropes now that she is feeling better. Its not fair for her since I can't raise a house chicken and she needs to learn to be a chicken plus I'm losing my mind with her constant neediness! In fact she is in my shirt on my belly as I type. I'm in Gales Ferry and cant drive too far! If you can help please pm me. Thanks!

I know at least one other chickenbuddy from Connectiut is here.

I live in Connecticut and have chickens..I'm not supposed to..I called and they said not in my area, but many towns around me are getting the ok..My neighbor said he did'nt see any reason why I could not have them..The first time we brought them for my daughter in Maine..Last year I wanted to keep them..Now I have fresh eggs and I love them..I just hatched 6 for my daughter 2 months ago and am so attached to them I hate to let them go..Someone gave me the eggs..I have an injured pullet who I did not know what was wrong..I took her to the vet,,,She must have got her leg caught in the mesh in the incabatoe and broke it..She is the sweetest thing..Also 2 silkies who are so cute..Also 2 look alikes who fly on our heads and sholders and a beautiful part silkie roo{I think] I loss sleep about letting them go..I know I have to....LaChap

Hi fellow CT peeps - I am looking to purchase 6 chicks this year. 3 blue layers and 3 white layers. i will drive and don't care to deal with anymore hatcheries. When I order chicks through the mail they tend to arrive DOA so I thought I would try to keep my dollars in this state this year. My pet chicken doesn't carry what I am looking for and they arren't a real hatchery anyway. I already have easter eggers - orpingtons - comets - rir's and slw's and would like to add something different - no roosters i'm not zoned for them. My girls are spoiled rotton - i even keep bug logs for them. I guess what I'm looking for is a breeder that cares where their babies go not a mass producing careless hatchery.
thank you - deb
