That's great. He had BEAUTIFUL birds. I thought his were standard black ones. I got some eggs from Johann a few years back but they didn't hatch. Shame. Now he's gone and his wife doesn't seem to respond to email. Glad you are carrying on the line.

welllll,... This chickity and I have been battling a sour crop all winter. we have spent many afternoons with her head over the toilet followed by a crop massage. Just when I thought her crop was going down and all would be well, ...
I noticed her walking around the yard yesterday all puffed up like a turkey. She wasn't running around like the other girls, but she was out there (vs just staying in the coop). Today when i brought fresh water and food out, she just went and stood in the corner. When I picked her up, she literally has no bulk to her. If she were featherless, she would be skin and bones.
She is now in solitary confinement in the basement with warm mushy food and fresh water. She took a tiny nibble and turned around. This is what she is doing now...
I'd imagine shes dying. But just wanted to check with you guys. :(

since writing this, she is standing on the shavings half in the green crate facing the back of it. no movement, just standing there.
