Hi,
I just posted two sister Golden Comet Hens on the BYC Auction a few mins prior to your post. Had I known I could have sold you one and put the other up for auction

. If you are interested in two instead of just one send me a PM I live in New Haven County very close to Naugatuck. If they don't sell as a pair after the auction is up in 7 days I can sell you the one. They were born on 4/2/2010 and are in their laying prime. One of them gives me a monster Jumbo egg every now and then!! Sorry to hear of your loss.
Take Care, Beth

Thanks for the offer Beth-I pmed Purple Chicken if that doesnt work out I will get back to you.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to head up their on my way home from work Tuesday, not exactly on the way between Norwalk and Milford, but not too horrible and still much better than paying $70 to have 50 pounds shipped.

Is there a Blue Seal comp in CT? If so they carry it and only for $15.00 for a 40 pd bag.

Thanks for the tip, there are a few in my area.

The Bethel Agway only has the 5lb bag at $12. The Agway in Danbury on Millplain rd has 40 lb for $20

Sorry about that. I bought a much smaller bag, but it was in the Spring.

DE is hard to find around here at a good price. Last time I bought it on line for $18 for 50lb and $30 shipping. That is still less per pound than I could find around here. I forgot to ask at Agway if it was foodgrade. OOOOPS! The phone number is 203-743-7500 if anybody wants to call ahead befor you make a trip.
On a differant note I bought a small pumpkin for a dollar and cut it in half ground up the seeds in a food processor poured it back into the pumkin half and gave it to "The Girls" They loved it! Pumpkin seeds are good for worm prevention.
