Vent sexing isn't something that you can just pick up in a lesson. The professionals who do it spend years in training and practice before they are allowed to do it alone. It is an art form best left to the masters lest the chicks suffer unnecessarily.

Hi All,
I never noticed this thread before, I guess I never took the time to thoroughly look through all the different area`s of BYC.

Hi Beth,

I was interested in seeing pics of the partridge hen that you have.

Oh and I think you need to change your signature...you added to your flock recently

Hey Lady!! Yes I forgot to add the little ones. They are doing great and you made my husband's day when he bought those. Do you know he ran home and kicked my new chicken coop building to the curb and built them a box and cage that day! I just posted her on the auction site. She is a really nice hen. If you get a chance check out the Breeder Bobbi Porto in Florida. This Hen is really quite by the way too

Hi Beth,

That hen is gorgeous...I wish I had somewhere to put her. I think I already need to expand my big coop, the inside only though.

I'm sorry about your coop being put on hold for quail. There is always next weekend right??

Take care and keep in touch. I would definitely be interested in some lav hatching eggs in the spring!

Do any of you CTers use DE? Does it work well? So far our birds are fine but with them spending more time in the coop than the run as the weather gets worse I thought it would help to keep things dry and bug-less. Where do you buy the food grade variety around these here parts? Thanks for your help.
