Your right it take alot of energy for them to keep warm. You need to make sure they are full when the go to bed at night. Eating just feed can get boring. Just like Bubba had a 100 way to make shrimp you need to come up with differant ways to feed the girls thier feed at dinner. What I like to do is mix stuff in with the feed at dinner time. I like to give them a big bowl of (Cooked and cooled)oatmeal mixed with the feed. I buy Hy-top,it come in a 3 lb container for like $3. Also I give them mushed up hard boiled eggs,(shell and all)If on sale can corn or frozen with some of the water to soften up the pellets. Then they also have thier feeder with just pellets if they are still hungry. The idea is to make sure thier crop is full at night. I know some of you are going to say "But mine are full at night and I still only get a few eggs" You think so do what I just said and you will see your nice sweet polite little girls knocking each other off their pirch to get at the food.

Hi everybody! This week at work we got a pump in a really nice wooden crate. I thought it would make a great brooder so I brought it home. I don't really need it though, anybody interested in it? Here's pics:

Overall size is 50"x32"x28" Maybe the top could be used to make the bottom solid.

Anyway if you are interested, just PM me.

Kimberly - If I bring home any more babies I'm afraid my husband will move out.

Tinman - I make my girls oatmeal every morning and bring out a snack in the afternoon. I have to wonder if I reverse the process maybe I'll see a rise in production. Maybe a warm food before bed is more beneficial than warm food in the morning?
