I was at the TSC in Farmington yesterday and they have black australorps (born 3/15). They have a 6 chick minimum but maybe if you explained your situation they'd make an exception.

The six chick minimum is due to state law, so they can't deviate from it (I tried recently!).
I am from Danbury, Ct. I just acquired 3 delaware, 1 blue silkie, and one assorted feather-legged (i can't figure out what she is) from mypetchicken.com. We had 6 but one of the girls passed away. I would love to purchase 2 more chicks, but I don't know of any local farms and i know 2 can't be shipped. i would love a polish or houdan (can they live in ct during the winter) or non-bearded silkies. I would love a sultan but i don't think they can live outdoors in ct. Does anyone know of anyone with chicks. I will drive up to 4 hrs to get them. Thanks!!
For some reason there seem to be allot of silkie people in the tri-state area. check out the for sale sections of BYC. Also, if you are willing to drive, check out the North East ChickenStock thread. If you want something in particular you may be able to arrange it in advance.
CT needs a chicken stock! I had so much fun last year at the one in Pennsylvania, but just can't go all that way again.
I am going to be hatching some (bearded) silkies and antwerp belgians this spring. Not sure what my hatch rate is going to be, but I only plan on keeping two of the belgians.. the silkies will be for sale. I know you said you wanted the non-bearded kind, but thought I'd throw this out as an option. THe eggs I will be hatching are coming from Boggy Bottom Bantams and will be show quality.
Depending on what you want tractor supply in New Milford has chicks. Also talk to the people at AGWAY on Millplain rd, they may be able to help you. There is also a feed store in Monroe I think it is called Bennadicks. They also have chicks this time of year. I don`t think Danbury is a chicken friendly city. Since you bought them from MPC you must of went to the post office to pick them up so now your picture is probably hanging on the wall there. The Poultry Police are probably planning a raid as we speak.
I hope you have nice nieghbors that you can bribe with fresh eggs
