Connecticut!

If anyone is interested in either an olive egger or light sussex cockerel, let me know. Nice boys, but somebody tried to crow today.

I was hoping I'd get a little more time with them. I also have a BCM cockerel that I will give to someone who promises to be really, really nice to him.

littleblue's turkey eggs went in to lockdown today with some black orp eggs.she is sooooooooooo excited to get blueslate turkeys again she had one last year she called little blue an he died from liver falure he was her best friend followed her every where would sit on her lap like a cat.after he died she would not go out to her coop for 2-3 weeks was sooooo sad i hope she gets another little buddy.making her a big outside brooder so she can play with them on nice days.

Does anyone in CT make good, quality wooden rabbit hutches/chicken coops? I am looking into my options for the angoras we're getting (the chickens will be living in the barn once it is a little warmer outside and they move out of the furnace room) and can't find anything i really like in the US (wish I lived in the UK or Australia, let me tell you!). So my options are build or remodel something store bought, unless i can find someone who makes something that I can't live without

The thought of cleaning coops today is not going over well in these temps. What happened to 50+ degree mornings

Anyone in CT have any good chicken plans for the weekend?

I was just thinking as sipping my coffee, I think there is a guy on the shoreline in Middlesex county with the last name Clark that will build rabbit hutches or chicken coops. I can't remember what town but, I want to say if you google Clarks Chicken Coops in CT it may come up. Good Luck!! I love baby bunnies but, I just don't have the time to have one anymore. I almost put one in my silkie stall but, decided that would be fair without another bunny

We'll be going to Common Ground Farm in New Haven.(Check out the website if you've never heard of it, it's a high school and farm .) It's "meet baby chicks day" there.

May 7 Meet Baby Chicks: Just like the eggs, baby chicks come in many different colors! We invite families to visit the farm and meet our mother hens and their new baby chicks. Learn about the amazing journey from egg to chick and take home information about free-range, humanely raised poultry and eggs. This is a free event.

Our weekend plans are to build the garden beds and get planting (seedlings are started and waiting) and finish cleaning out the chicken area of the barn, putting in the poultry netting and putting up roosts. the babies will be going outside soon ... if it ever stops getting close to freezing overnight
