Yes, that might be who I meant! I know someone is doing a presentation in Ridgefield (I think, at this point I'm not sure of anything!). And I'd prefer getting chicks from a breeder-just having trouble tracking down where to get chicks of the breeds I'm looking for, in small quantities, and all about the same time so that they don't pick on each other!

It's all good we knew what ya meant

TSC does do private orders however it is a 15 chick min I think. Unless they have changed their policy since last year when my girlfriend tried to order from them

I didn't get involved except rescued a rooster from a Hamden Resident but, Hamden just went through a battle with zoning in Spring/summer 2010. If you google it I think there is alot of info on the internet on it

Good luck with your town's chicken laws... here in Bethel they made some revisions in January; you now need a permit to keep chickens but apparently no one has applied yet because they couldn't tell me how much the permit would be-ditto for the permit needed for a chicken coop! But then, Bethel requires permits for everything-even a $1 permit to have a tag sale! I'm thinking the fees will be very minimal, but I have a very nosy neighbor (she likes to watch with binoculars from her deck, through the woods:tongue!) so I want everything in order. I have a copy of the Bethel zoning regulations if anyone wants them.
