I'm confused... you mean IN ADDITION to the gloved concierge that I already have to feed, water and wipe the butts of all my girls?

(OK.. true story.. the one Dominique I have came from a friend who lost all her other birds. She used to -honestly- WIPE HER CHICKENS FEET every day! She would bake salmon quiche just for the flock. She put a heating stone - like what you use for puppies- in the Eglu each night. ...yes, she lives in Greenwich. I told that bird when it came to live here that we dont offer turn-down service.)

Hey all! I'm new to the site AND to chickens, but thought I'd introduce myself here (wow! There are quite a few of us from CT... who knew?!)

I'm Jenn... from Salem (which is right between Colchester and Norwich), and in my incubator are a "barnyard mix" of orpingtons, marans, and americuana that I've been excitedly watching for 2 weeks now.

Glad to meet you all!

Yes, that might be who I meant! I know someone is doing a presentation in Ridgefield (I think, at this point I'm not sure of anything!). And I'd prefer getting chicks from a breeder-just having trouble tracking down where to get chicks of the breeds I'm looking for, in small quantities, and all about the same time so that they don't pick on each other!

It's a Raising Backyard Chickens class at the RIdgefield Library the afternoon of June 12. There will be a presentation by My Pet Chicken, a local vet who treats chickens, snacks and a local coop tour. It's presented by Green Village Initiative. I'll let everyone know when the full agenda is worked out. It should be fun. I hope people come.

Hi Muzzie,
I am working on a chicken festival here in Bethany, CT for Sept 24th. I still have to iron out the details with the health dept, and state of ct but, it's looking like it's going to happen. There is a new thread we started and any input is greatly appreciated!! New Chick 203 has some great ideas and so does Adozengirlz

We all said we needed on here in CT so, I figure why not I will give it a go and see how it turns out. If it works out I will do it every year
