Connecticut!

Is anyone interested in adopting 2 cochin bantam roos about 7 mos old? They are both handsome & good natured boys, we are just over-run with roos. They are a buff/golden-laced cross. I'm in Deep River, pick-up only.

My good little Araucana broody just hatched out 5 Babies and she is two days early!! I love this little broody!!! I actually just went to do my daily getting her off the nest routine and this is what I walked into!

That is just the sweetest picture!!

Regarding broodies getting off their eggs... Betty is STILL getting off the nest even though she has two babies under her and is still sitting on 3 eggs. At this point I feel like I should duct tape her down! I know she got up this morning because I saw a new big poo just outside the cage. This is the most staggered hatch ever.

Silly birds.

Hi,

You should try to put them up on the auction with pictures. Maybe you will get someone looking for just the right color etc..

I feel your pain with the rooster issue. I currently have more roosters than hens in my bantie cochin pen but, that's not always a bad thing since they are hard to get fertile eggs from

Awww...so cute!

Thanks Pam! She is the sweetest broody I've ever owned. She let's me touch the babies and I pick this gal up off the nest daily. All she does is look at me a purrrr as if to say Hello, I trust you

I haven't had any broodies yet that wouldn't let me touch them or the eggs. I guess so far I've been lucky. I always hand feed them treats while they are broody, so maybe that helps...haha.

I was wondering I have 2 bcmarans hens and a bcm rooster I would like to trade for a couple blue egg layers
doesn't matter to me if they are ee or Ameraucanas anyone interested let me know. Local only
Ct.

Gosh I've tried everything with my non-bearded hen Snowy but, she is so aggressive about her eggs and chicks I have scares!!! She's brutal I tell ya!!! I think she would die for her chick to be honest with you which is not a bad thing but, boy is it scary to try and change the water and food twice a day!! I fear for my life with a silkie

Ooo. .. I might be willing to trade one of my EE pullets for one hen. I can't have Roos, though. The girl I would trade lays a nice, jumbo green egg. She's not the prettiest bird on the lot (all white, no muff), but she is sweet.
