So sorry for your loss of Honoria. What a beautiful bird. I had a baby chick die today. Maybe Honoria is teaching that little chickie how to scratch for bugs in The big Coop in the Sky.
I just got off the phone with the vet. Honoria died. It turns out she had a larger infection and the bumble foot was just how it manifested to us. her brother died of an infection at 10 weeks and he thought there was a systemic problem with their blood line. I'm distraught.
I am very sorry to hear that she didn't make it. My condolences. She was a beautiful girl.
One of my girls did it. She hatched out 3 out of 4. (She crushed the forth on wedsday). I did not expect it yet cause they are 2 days early. I went to lock up last night and all the chickens are giving me sideway glances and shaking thier heads toward the broodies. Then I heard a PEEP! So I picked her up and there they were!

So sorry that you lost her - what a beautiful bird.
I've yet to have one go broody, but I'd love to have the experience. However, I am on day 27 of my first attempt at a goose hatch. Three Pilgrim eggs have made it this far - this is so much more stressful than hatching chickens!! Anyways, congrats on your babies - I hope we get to see some pics!
So CT Peeps anyone doing some cookouts and grilling this weekend?
What's your food of choice for cookouts? I want to make something different for a cookout this weekend and would love to hear what you all would make/bring!!
I was going to pick up some fish to grill tonight. Monday we are doing kebobs. The other night I grilled burgers and made a blue cheese sauce for them. Also grilled potato slices that were pretty yummy.
