Connecticut!

Yeah I think some do explain that b/c to an untrained eye the pullets do appear as just a plain buff but, you should be able to see some white on the tips of the breast feathers. Faint but, its there usually on F1's.

Interesting. In someone's for sale ad they said their birds were real lemon not buff. Hmmm.

Hi everyone! I wanted to let the "locals" know that I have some beautiful blue silkie cockerels for sale. If interested, PM me. Once shipping season is here, they will go up on auction. :)

When they are little the lemons look like very light buffs it is amazing what some people will pay for them.they are a very pretty bird but still just lays light brown eggs not gold

Hi, everybody!

Just checking in since I haven't been around in a long while. Still singing the "ain't got no eggs" blues. If the chookies weren't so darn cute and sweet, they would all be in serious danger of the stewpot.

I think I"m going to try hatching again this spring. Just can't decide on breed. :)

Welcome back. We've been unusually quiet lately. I think people are hibernating.

So, what fun chicken events are coming up in the next couple of months? I have an itch to get out of the house and see people and chickens!

i'm singing that song too lol. so frustrating, even my duckie stopped laying. thinking about throwing them darn ducks in the stew pot lol

You need some nice private breeding stock Orpingtons

Those are great layers!! Mine have been laying most of the winter. I'm getting about 3+ dozen a day now with no addition of artifical lighting.

Yes I've been on facebook more and more since BYC changed over to the new format. I find it hard to manuver in sometimes and it's frustrating. Come on over to the FB side just for chicken fun
