I highly recommend it. Very sensible sound approach to chickens and gardens. She is making me rethink my fear of poisonous plants, and get it more in proportion to the danger. Just a thought to anyone sitting inside on this rainy day thinking of Spring.

Hi everyone,
Hope all is well in CT.
This wintery weather is driving me crazy. I was working on building raised bed before this started. I am looking to get 4 to 6 more girls very soon. Anyone have any for sale? I am not very pick on breeds.
My girls are doing great and producing about 16 eggs per week between all 4 of them.

Hi everyone in CT!! Just want to introduce myself. I am new to the site and somewhat new to owning backyard chickens. I am from Stratford, CT. I have owned chickens about 4 years ago, a couple here and there. I now have recently gotten back into it and am a bit overwhelmed at how much can really go into it. Currently I have just one Millie Fleur who is just under a year old. She is currently alone because she was originally free range with a friend, however her friend met her maker due to a hawk :( . I have since put her in a large run, however she is now lonely and seems a bit depressed. She eats well and is somewhat active but she will only come out of the coop if I am there. If I close the coop, she will just sit under it and stare at the door of my house, waiting for me to come out. I try to socialize with her everyday, letting her out of the run while I am there and being a bit hands on with her. I am getting a couple of new chicks tonight. Concerned about introducing them to her. I have also posted in raising chicks to get some answers about the chicks. Anyway, looking forward to discussing chickens with all of you.

I will have a variety of chicks for sale - due to hatch in a few weeks. They are Silkie-Mixed. I'm in Oxford, CT. Send me a PM if interested.

She has been alone for a month now. I have been searching for Bantams her age but have had no luck. I finally found some Bantam chicks that are about 5 week old and close by. I have been reading different responses here and there. Some say she will react fine to the chicks as she is lonely and will just want to have a friend or two. Others are saying that she would not get along. I think everyone and every chicken has their one opinion, but appreciate any and all advise. If anyone has a Bantam or two her age (sorry no roos) it would be appreciated. Otherwise, I am to pick up the two chicks tonight. They are already hatched so I would not have to wait any longer as far as waiting for them to hatch or be off of heat, etc. Thanks for the offers of upcomming chicks though.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a Mac based Chicken cam? I had a coop cam and loved it, but when it had problems it had no tech support and we never got it working again. We want wireless, color and romote control pan and tilt. Thanks.
