I am still not sure if you guys are talking about a whole kernel of corn? It seems mighty big? I have large fowl, but it seems a dried piece of whole corn kernel would be hard to go down. I guess I've never tried it, but before I do, I want to make sure the chicken's not going to choke on it. Please explain?
RM44, I feed my chickens a little whole corn (the dried, whole kernel) during the winter along with a little millet and BOSS (black oil sunflower seed) as their scratch. That isn't their main diet and I do have grit available to them. Mine love the corn as most chickens do and they eat all the kernels before looking for the other seeds. I have never had a chicken choke on the corn but they are all full grown and I don't think I gave them whole kernels until they were maybe 4 months old. Hope that helps
Std. fowl choke on whole corn? Naw, haven't you ever seen one swallow a whole mouse before? If not, you need to: it is a sight to behold. My chickens will fight over a mouse like two cowboys over a T-bone steak. saladin

No harm trying...
Chickens can and will eat whole kernel corn. Back on the farm the free range banties ate it too. (Big banties)
My 3.5 month old standard EE pullets eat some. (They don't like corn very much just like their master...)

If you are talking about something like unpopped popcorn. I give my birds the leftovers from the popper (with a few seeds in it) and have never had a problem, but I do not give them lots. I do pop it for them every couple of weeks.
They also like whole kernal fresh or frozen corn. I give them some about once a week.
