I am still not sure if you guys are talking about a whole kernel of corn? It seems mighty big? I have large fowl, but it seems a dried piece of whole corn kernel would be hard to go down. I guess I've never tried it, but before I do, I want to make sure the chicken's not going to choke on it. Please explain?

RM44, I feed my chickens a little whole corn (the dried, whole kernel) during the winter along with a little millet and BOSS (black oil sunflower seed) as their scratch. That isn't their main diet and I do have grit available to them. Mine love the corn as most chickens do and they eat all the kernels before looking for the other seeds. I have never had a chicken choke on the corn but they are all full grown and I don't think I gave them whole kernels until they were maybe 4 months old. Hope that helps

Std. fowl choke on whole corn? Naw, haven't you ever seen one swallow a whole mouse before? If not, you need to: it is a sight to behold. My chickens will fight over a mouse like two cowboys over a T-bone steak. saladin

They also like whole kernal fresh or frozen corn. I give them some about once a week.
