Hey Checoukan - I waved when you went by today. That bus was MOVIN! Just happened to stop at my daughters after I'd been to Mt Vernon - saw you when I was letting the baby look out the window. It was a GREAT day for getting the windows open. Come ON spring!

I don't think that was me, I have been on jury duty!

Checoukan-- I plan on candeling the eggs tonight!!! Weeeee-- wish me luck!! (that they are growing!)

Okay, my back is hurting and I am tired. I had to use child labor today to help me hold up pieces to get my brother's coop started. My mom came over later after I begged so she could hold up the floor joists for me so I could get those screwed in. I just really needed another pair of hands for that part. I think I can handle the rest-- but the beginning is a two person job. My mom took these pictures with my camera-- so for once, I'm in it. Although, the wind was blowing fiercely-- so we look half way blown away.

My two "Littles" are in the picture with me-- one posing and the other playing with my measuring tape being a typical boy.

(BTW-- I was looking at this picture again and the thing in my mouth is a screw-- it kind of looks odd, and I'm wearing safety glasses)

OH funny!! I just noticed Seymore is in this picture. Wow, she manages to get in about every picture I take! LOL

Looks like you got a good start on it already! I know what you mean about needing two hands. I had to throw together a little pen to put some chicks outdoors in yesterday. It is about 2x4 surrounded by chicken wire - it only needs to contain the chicks and keep them away from the big girls. It sounded so easy but without a second pair of hands to hold up one end while I joined the other.....well, let's just say, a few wayward words could be heard coming from my yard. I finally got it together and the chicks are enjoying their outside time but it would have been so much easier if just one of my kiddos had looked out the window and said "Hey Mum - do you need a hand with that?"

Let us know how the candling goes.....

Well darn. I went out to put the girls in their pen for the night, and my GLW, Vic, was dead in the corner of the straw shelter in the run. No injuries or signs of illness, no evidence of mites or parasites, just dead. She was just under 2 years old. My head chicken has lost her enforcer. Rest in Peace, Vic.

RIP Vic. So sorry for your loss, Sharol.

She was beautiful! I'm sorry.

TNT thanks for telling me about the stuff on the swap. I didn't get the message on facebook but wrote him. I have no idea why his message wasn't showing up. Ever since they put this new timeline feature in my facebook seems to be malfunctioning. I hate the new timeline thing. It is hard to follow for me, so I haven't changed mine.
It was another long day. I'm just getting home again. We got Mom moved to the rest home today. I can't say it impresses me at all. It's still the crummy little rooms it was years ago, and she has to share one of those rooms with a room mate. They spent a lot of money on a face lift that should been spent in the patient rooms. I just can't see my Mom being happy there at all. She had a very long day and was super tired. I had to feed her dinner because she couldn't make her brain work on how to get the food to her mouth. This is all a recent thing since she has been sick and it is heartbreaking.
Tomorrow is my Mom and Dad's 65th anniversary and it breaks their hearts that they can't be together.
I sure hope DH fed the chickens because I never had a chance to get out there.
Loralee your littles are just adorable!

RIP VIc - I'm sorry Sharol

Danz, I never once thought you were being a downer - Everyone needs to vent and have a place to share their emotions and what a better place to do it, than with friends! We are all here for you!!

Hawkeye - Nice job on getting all that work done!

I've really tried hard to stay up on the posts this week, so sorry if I missed anyone or anything. I've been spending a lot of time at the hospital (which is horrible, since I work there as well - I just never seem to be at home anymore), but my DH and granddaughter went home today! Yay! Everything is just wonderful. She's such a content little baby. I really hope it stays that way! It'll be easier for my daughter since she lives with two roommates. We told her to basically hole herself in at home for this next week - no lots of visitors- so she can bond with her baby and regain her strength. Thanks everyone for the well wishes :) My emotions have been so all over the place that I'm mentally exhausted!

It was so nice and warm outside that I took the duckies out for a backyard stroll! The little ones were more interested in swimming in the water dish, but the older ones were having a blast picking at bugs and grass. We tried to introduce the two sets together and the bigger ones pick at the little ones and try to grab them by the back of the necks. Kinda weird. One of the little ones will stand up to the big ones, but the other runs. We are going to make a bigger indoor brooder pen this weekend and just separate the two sets with screen so they can be next to each other and not touch each other. That might help things when it comes time to merge the four together.
