Consolidated Kansas

Well my experiment seems to be working. The younger girls are leaving the hay in the nest box and my new girl got right to work laying eggs. 3 eggs in 4 days so it doesn't look like she was stressed too much joining my "flock". I guess it was the rooster throwing the nest out. The girls seem more docile now that he is gone. I can sit down and they will come right up to me and even climb on me.

Sharol/CarolAnn: Hope you get over your back problems soon! I dealt with that for a year and needed two surgeries. Doing great now!

I'm seeing it now. How'd I miss it!! So Admire is west of Osage City and south a bit. That's not too far from. I'm just a little south of Ottawa, near Princeton.

Thank you!! I went for another massage this evening. I'm feeling a little sore today but not in pain. Now that the chiropractor got my leg and hip back in the right place i wonder if I even needed that last epidural. Hmm... Well I got to do my chores this morning and my girls and the dudes were happy to see me.

Whoever mentioned getting together for coffee? I'll be a little jealous if you guys get to do that, sounds like fun! I'm way over here. Sigh.............

I got 19 eggs today so the moulting, so far, isn't slowing the eggs down, yet. I love love love collecting those beautiful eggs! It'll never get old.

Where is "way over here"? My back was so bad I was NEEDING epidurals every 6 weeks.. but they won't do that for long. So I had a laminectomy on my lower back and a discetomy on my neck. Now I don't even need pain pills. My bad back got me interested in chickens. I got tired of being "cooped up" so I built a chicken coop!

Swap in Joplin, Mo in the morning if anyone is bored. You Southeast Kansans can come on over. Turkey Creek Feed Store 2 miles East of Rangeline Road on 20th street.

My sister is in SE Kansas and often goes to that swapmeet. I was there once, too, when I was down visiting her. I don't know if she will be going in the morning or not. (She's out deer hunting.)

Anyone know of any good swap meets in NE Kansas?

I'm near Princeton, KS.

Wow, I'm so thankful that my problem isn't that serious. I've had 4 epidurals now, two weeks between. I think I'm fixed now. Been to a church retreat all day and lots of walking trails and I'm feeling great, just tired. If I'm still feeling this good tomorrow I'll believe I'm fixed. Using the needed cautions, of course. I'm so darn happy t be back to doing my own chicken chores!!
