Consolidated Kansas

Hey all,
i need to sell my guineas I have 4. They are still young $20 talesthem. They are expanding their range to far for where I live. I am afraid that my neighbors will start to complain with them squawking in their yard. If you live close and want th please let me know.

I think my girls are starting to moult. I didn't realize they'd do this before they were closer to one yr old. Anyway this is more of a vent than a question, because I do think they're moulting, AND this is better than actually choking the hubby. I've been down with a back injury for a couple of weeks and hubby has been having to do my chicken chores. He hasn't complained but it seems he's been doing only what he's had to to get by and I've just wanted to choke him some days. It's not that he isn't ding it MY way either because I'm not a big controller. He hasn't kept the water pans filled and I've hobbled out there a couple times to see the girls when their pans were flipped over and the water fount on it's side. Thankfully there's been water in the big fount inside, which he probably figures is enough. And it IS better than no water but not as good as more water that's easier to get to. He lets the feeder get down to nearly nothing before adding feed and it's made the girls irritable and I've seen some fighting, which I've never seen in them before. My birds are starting to look rough on the back ends and some are losing their tail feathers. I need to thin my flock but haven't had a chance to do anything about that while I'm down. It's been really awful not to be able to bend and carry to take care of my flock. He's been so great about letting me have chickens and he's enjoyed seeing all that I get out of having them along with all the responsibility too. Thanks for letting me blow some steam. Hopefully by the weekend I'll be able functioning better and can get back to doing my chores again. It really stinks being down.

I hear you on the back thing. I tried to lift something on Saturday that I shouldn't have (the table part of a table saw that was still in the box) and fouled up my lower back, too. It is awful not being able to do the things that need being done. I'm supposed to be painting the wood in the new coop building and getting the nest boxes ready to go. I can't even lift the paint can. I have no patience with this sort of thing either.

Good luck with your back. Mine is better (thanks to my miracle working chiropractor), but I still can't lift anything heavier than a small chair.

Ok its day 26 and all 8 eggs are pipped. I am excited to see what these baby ducks look like. Drake is a magpie, one pekin hen, one magpie hen, and two rohen hens. Two eggs from each mother. Christmas dinner yum yum!

Sharol, I hope you're on the mend. A good chiropractor can do soo much to keep us healthy and active. I've had a good one for many years now. I also have a wonderful massage therapist who has quite a few years of physical therapy to enhance the massage experience. Only thing is he doesn't do "sleeper massages" (the kind that relax you so much you can fall asleep) which is what I want so bad sometimes. But if he can keep me from needing the chiropractor for a year at a time I'm very blessed.

Help me out. I was trying to find Admire, KS on the map last week to see where you were and just couldn't locate you. I'm stumped.

Admire is just a few miles NE of me - I'm over in Americus. Admire - the site of the famous meteorite fall and recent recovery. I've spent some time a few years ago over in Admire and the surrounding area, holding Bible studies in homes.
