I think my girls are starting to moult. I didn't realize they'd do this before they were closer to one yr old. Anyway this is more of a vent than a question, because I do think they're moulting, AND this is better than actually choking the hubby. I've been down with a back injury for a couple of weeks and hubby has been having to do my chicken chores. He hasn't complained but it seems he's been doing only what he's had to to get by and I've just wanted to choke him some days. It's not that he isn't ding it MY way either because I'm not a big controller. He hasn't kept the water pans filled and I've hobbled out there a couple times to see the girls when their pans were flipped over and the water fount on it's side. Thankfully there's been water in the big fount inside, which he probably figures is enough. And it IS better than no water but not as good as more water that's easier to get to. He lets the feeder get down to nearly nothing before adding feed and it's made the girls irritable and I've seen some fighting, which I've never seen in them before. My birds are starting to look rough on the back ends and some are losing their tail feathers. I need to thin my flock but haven't had a chance to do anything about that while I'm down. It's been really awful not to be able to bend and carry to take care of my flock. He's been so great about letting me have chickens and he's enjoyed seeing all that I get out of having them along with all the responsibility too. Thanks for letting me blow some steam. Hopefully by the weekend I'll be able functioning better and can get back to doing my chores again. It really stinks being down.
