I'm very lucky...the four in the picture live 3 miles from me and the other 2 live about 45 minutes away. I babysit 2-3 days a week for them so I get to see them all the time.

What a blessing!!! She's a beauty Grandma! Two of our three grand daughters live just 1/4 mi down the road from us. The third and soon to be fourth live in CA.

Katy as always your birds are gorgeous!

I made a mistake the other day and went and looked at hatching eggs. I did not buy any, thank goodness. I was awwing over baby chicks tho. My daughter asked me today when we were gonna start hatching. I told her maybe the end of Jan. That way they wont have to be inside forever.

I took advantage of the nicer weather to change leg bands on the youngest batch that I hatched from Katys orps. The young roos are huge, and really look like they will have great type. Luckily I have a friend who wants them so they won't end up as dinner, at least not soon. While out playing with the chickens I found a pullet who climb into a cubby to lay an egg and couldn't get out. Thankfully she was alive, but she was weak. So I decided at that point it was a good time move chickens to where I wanted them.

So I feel like I got a lot accomplished.

YW Naughty. I forgot to ask what dish you had in mind for him. Did any of the kids refuse to eat?

Ooooh Katy, beautiful birds and grandbabies!

We're finally home, at least for today. DH is so proud of himself. He only lost 1 chick while we were gone.

Well i heard some sounds of summer today. One of my Old english game banties is crowing and he sounds exactly like a red winged black bird......lol. I thought i was at a cattail filled pond when i heard him crow. So now i have four Roo's crowing. Lovin the farm life.

Any one up for installing barbed/none barber wire around a 10 acre pasture? I've been working on it for the past few months so that I can get my Horses moved to my farm. It’s starting to take forever. If any of you know a cheap and easy way to get it done or are willing to work for Food I would love some help!

Right now I’m putting out over $200 a month to keep the horses on another person’s land. With them moved to the our farm I could put that money to much better use. (more chickens)

I have all the Posts up and corners inctalled so all I really need is the wire up.
